PLANNED MAINTENANCE
Unplanned repair work is one of the most expensive ways of carrying out service. Especially if the fault occurs when the vessel is on the high seas with no possibility for self repairs or if the offshore rig is in full production.
According to reliable statistics, more than 80% of these faults could have been avoided by adopting a more structural maintenance approach. The cost of unplanned repair work is often 20-30 times higher compared with planned repair work.
These costs can be reduced significantly by using the right tools.

KVIST automation introduced a tool - PlanSafe® - to our customers in mid 2008 for making planned and documented maintenance - with very good response.
PlanSafe® is a tool that is potentially able to reduce the costs of unplanned repair work to an absolute minimum.
It is a simple deal: Our customer signs an agreement with KVIST automation on planned and documented maintenance.
Subsequently, KVIST automation creates a database comprising all critical components in the system including producer name, serial number, production number and presetting.
Finally, a plan is scheduled, showing when and how the maintenance must be carried out, on a 3, 6, 9 or 12 month basis.
If a component – for whatever reason – has been altered since its latest maintenance, it will be adjusted to its optimal settings. Faults will also be detected, making it possible to replace the components before a major breakdown.
